New Publishing deal with Rockstarmedia.
As I said recently , I would let you know some fantastic news.
Well the ink is nearly dry on a new publishing deal with Rockstarmedia and I couldn't be more thrilled.
What a month ! Two songs have reached the semi finals in the UKSC songwriting competition.
Reminds me of you with Mark Woodcock and Nothing to show with Paul Mcilwaine reached those positions out of 6.000 entries.
Then Rockstar put the finishing touches to an exclusive publishing deal and there is also talk of a Debut album , which RSM can distribute globally.
Obviously this is not just my success , it has been achieved with the talents of Paul Mcilwaine , Paul May and Mark Woodcock.
I couldn't be more thrilled for them , they are special people that have shown a huge amount of faith and trust.
The writing conrtinues , more material with Both Paul's and a new writer Anthony Caplan , I love his writing and hope to produce something of equal measure to my previous work.
I've recently joined Paul Mcilwaines Dream team productions and started work on a number of tracks that we hope to promote on soundclick and eventually add to our list of published works , which today totals 14 songs.
The style of those tracks will be varied , dance , blues , indie and I dare say , lead to other changes of genres.
I'm also working with Two guy's called Ian Henderson and John Holgate as part of a group collaboration as The Rose thieves.
Trying to bring new ideas and sounds together.
John has played in a few bands and plays acoustic and lead guitar and is a composer of many great tunes in his own right.
Ian is also an accomplished writer and brings a beautifully constructed strings and piano element to the mix. Our first offering is " Cherry lips "
Many of the listeners to SC will have been surprised by a change of direction with Paul Mc and dream team productions " Loose control " it's a stomping dance track and there are Two mixes available on Sc to listen to.
Recorded at IMP Canterbury and produced and mixed at Paul's Wonderland studios in Ireland , It has received great reviews of late .
Beautifully broken with Paul D May has been at UK number one on SC for over a week and currently show's no sign of wilting , it's a song based on Gov't Mule's song of the same name. It's beautifuly atmospheric and show's Paul May's guitar skills.
This was recorded at home on my own recording equipment and produced and mixed there under the name of One stop studio's.
It's another venture for me and a real challenge to put all I have learnt from various engineer's and producers into practice.
What's next ? well , I've been in contact with a few Radio stations around Kent and if any approach is made , obviously it will go through the publishers
and I've also had a piece in THe Whitstable times regarding the publishing deal and songwriting competition.
Other than that , it's back to writing and recording. Something I still love and I continue to enjoy the process of making the jigsaw fit.
I'll still record at studio's but with the financial climate , my own equipment made sound sense and will help to turn around songs a little faster.

The album still is some way off , it will probably be July next year , twelve months late but that's fine , as long as I can still write and perform until it takes shape.
releasing it doesn't seem to be such a priority now , as long as when it does come out, it's everything I wanted it to be and I feel proud of it myself.
It may seem daft but in these times , with money so difficult to come by , I just feel that it is even more important that people get value for money if they are buying the CD.
I've worked with Two studio's recently , IMP and Ten 21. The completed album will be engineered and mastered at Ten 21 in Maidstone by a guy called Sean Kenny. Sean also contributes backing vocals and additional instrumentation ...
a good example of which is " Nothing to show " written with Paul Mcilwaine.
This song has been entered into the UK songwriting competition and the results are due in August , I'm really hoping it does well ,. It is a very inspired piece, with lots of energy. -( semi finalist Sept 2009 updated sept 23rd 09)
